Soya has one of those rare menus that when you read it you want everything on it. We had the scallop and dumpling starters followed by the scollop fried rice and papaya salad. All was awesome and very generous serves. Add happy hour drinks and what’s not to like! More

We recently had dinner for the first time at Soya and it was a great experience! Food was amazing, service very good and we could actually have a conversation without shouting. The wine options are good too but you can also byo for a reasonable price. Luckily it's a local for us! More

My wife n I ate at Soya and really loved the food. We didn't book a table but tried our luck around 8oclock on a Friday night. When we mentioned that we hadn't booked, the lady looked at her watch prior to allowing us in! The menu is absolutely gorgeous and we tried to taste lots of dishes and there wasn't a bad one amongst them. A special mention has to be made for the sticky eggplant, by far the best ever and the scallops we so flavoursome, particularly with I believe a hint of lemongrass. The front of house could possibly be improved, to match the food. There were plenty of girls available but there appeared to be quite a social scene around the corner by the bar n serving hatch. When you got their attention, they were helpful and friendly. Just a little more awareness of the people dinning and it would have been perfect.

Went for the yum cha lunch. Got the yum cha dumplings which was 2x7 different types of dumplings. The flavour in the dumplings was really good. It was also a really nice fresh way to do yum cha - a bit of everything but everything was still hot and fresh. Will be coming here again

These guys definitely hit the mark!
Our recent visit to Soya for a date night was such a pleasant experience. Located in a great position in Balmain, the venue sets the tone right away with a warm greeting and beautiful decor. It’s lovely and bright during the day, switching to charming, warm lighting as night falls.
The service throughout the evening was excellent: they were friendly, timely and efficient.
The pinnacle though was the food and drink. The dishes, both entrees and mains were flavourful and met all expectations, and the cocktails were among some of the nicest we’ve had.
We struck up conversation with a local couple who frequent the venue, who similarly spoke highly of the venue, showing it wasn’t just a once-off experience either.
Would highly recommend as a must visit for the Balmain area!
